College Students Will Be Pranksters

Whether to relieve a little stress or to get the best of a classmate or anyone with decisionmaking power, college students never to seem to run out of practical jokes. Here are a few our readers sent to us.

Frostburg State University, Md.:

A vending machine was placed in front of an RA’s dorm room during final exams, blocking her exit. By the time maintenance came to remove this very heavy machine, the RA had missed her exam.

Cowley College, Winfield, Kan.:

A group of student- athletes built an “anatomically correct snowgirl” in front of a dormitory and photographed the “horrified” expression of the administrator who showed up in response to calls about the “sculpture.”

Belhaven College, Jackson, Miss.:

Students removed a tire from a resident director’s car and photographed it all over town — shopping at Wal- Mart, ordering food at IHOP etc., sending photos every few days to chronicle its adventures. Fortunately, the students left a clue where to find the missing tire.

SUNY Oswego:

When late-night dormitory desk attendants repeatedly complained that large amounts of water were being thrown from a window on an upper floor, resident assistants discovered a 3-foot-high swimming pool, complete with inflatable toys and a water slide, in the middle of a dorm room. Suddenly there was an explanation for why residents were constantly seen coming in and out of this student’s room wearing bathrobes.
