The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community has donated $10 MILLION for the UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA’S new $288 million football stadium. This is the single largest gift that University of Minnesota athletics has received.
THE HISPANIC HEALTH DISPARITIES RESEARCH CENTER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT EL PASO has received a $6.8 MILLION grant from the National Institutes of Health. Specifically, the funds will be used to advance the research of the center and to eliminate racial and ethnic health inequalities across the United States.
YAKIMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE (WASH.) has received a five-year $3 MILLION grant from the U.S. Department of Education to increase the numbers of Hispanic students who attend college and improve graduation rates. In particular, the college will be working with area high schools to help students become college ready.
