For one lucky student planning to attend a historically Black college or university next fall, the Tom Joyner Foundation is willing to pick up the entire tab.
Founded in 1998, the foundation has raised more than $55 million to help keep students enrolled in HBCUs. But next year the foundation will cover the full tuition, room and board as well as book expenses up to 10 semesters for one student.
“We give away scholarships for $1,500 and $2,500 all the time,” said Joyner, chairman of his foundation and host of the top-ranked nationally syndicated radio show. “This time, we’re making one student not have to worry about anything except staying in school.”

The application deadline is July 1, 2008.
