Dr. Carol Simpson has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs at Old Dominion University (Va.). Simpson earned a bachelor’s from the University of Wales, a master’s from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and a doctorate from ETH Zurich in Switzerland.



Dr. Christine Taylor has been appointed associate vice president for institutional diversity at Miami University (Ohio) effective March 1. Taylor earned a bachelor’s from Middle Tennessee State University and a master’s and doctorate from Ohio University.



Angela N. Woods has been appointed assistant director for access initiatives and academic services in the Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) at Syracuse University (N.Y.). She earned a bachelor’s from Syracuse University and a master’s from the University of Maryland, College Park.
