A Chat With Dr. Cary Goodman

Last year, Directions for Our Youth, an organization founded in 1991 to address high drop out rates, organized the first Dropout SUMMIT, which brought together parents, teachers, students, researchers, and community organizations to develop a strategy for dropout prevention. Dropout SUMMIT II is scheduled for Feb. 22 in New York City. Here, Dr. Cary Goodman, executive director of DFOY and a former public school teacher and college professor, talks with Diverse about keeping students engaged.
