Slade Appointed Acting President at Texas Southern
Dr. Priscilla Dean Slade has been appointed acting president of Texas Southern University by its board of regents. Most recently, she was dean of the School of Business at Texas Southern, where she is responsible for securing $15 million in private and state funds. Slade earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mississippi State University; a master's degree in accounting from Jackson State University; and a doctorate in accounting from the University of Texas-Austin.

Dr. Andre Branch has been named coordinator of Long Island University's Bushwick Extension Program, an initiative designed to strengthen linkages between the main campus and students at the continuing education center. The program will help the extension students avail themselves of the cultural and educational programs offered by LIU. Branch is a former teacher who earned a bachelor's degree in religion with credit from Warnborough College in England, the Institute of Holy Land Studies in Jerusalem, and the King's College in New York; a master's degree in education from North Carolina State University; and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of Washington.
Arlene Wesley Cash has been named dean for enrollment services at the University of Arkansas. Previously, she was associate dean and director of admissions at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Cash earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy and English from Keuka College in New York; and a master's degree in philosophy from Kent State University.
Dr . Thomas HayneS has been appointed associate vice president for corporate relations at Florida A&M University. Haynes is former director of the FAMU Career Center. He earned a bachelor's degree in behavioral science/abnormal psychology from Shaw University in North Carolina; a master's degree in counselor education from Florida A&M University; and a doctorate in educational leadership from Florida State University.
Dr. Hassan Minor has been named interim chief information officer overseeing the information systems and services division at Howard University. He served two five-year terms as a regent of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Minor earned a bachelor's degree in engineering and history from University of Detroit; master's degrees in policy analysis from Brandeis University, and economics and planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and a doctorate in organizational studies, also from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
