The AMERICAN INDIAN COLLEGE FUND has received a $50,000 grant from the AT&T Foundation for student scholarship through the AICF’s Tribal College Program. The monies will benefit tribal college students studying math, science, technology and business.

establish the W. M. Keck Institute for Space

to explore why there is a shortage of minorities in the STEMfields.

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, NORTHRIDGE, has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Augustine Foundation to support

the conservation of musical scores in the Oviatt Library’s International Guitar Research Archive.

DUKE UNIVERSITY (N.C.) has received $20 MILLION in endowment funds from trustee Bruce Karsh and his wife, Martha, to support international undergraduate students. It is the largest gift received specifically for the needs of international undergraduate students at Duke.

The NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION has received a $1.1 MILLION grant from the Tom Joyner Foundation to better prepare more minority teachers to teach at underserved urban and rural schools.

RUTGERS UNIVERSITY (N.J.) has received a $100,000 donation from Verizon Wireless for the university’s Center on Violence Against Women and Children. The funds will create the HopeLine Scholarship which will support graduate students who are studying violence against women and children.

A TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY sports lab has received a $100,000 grant from the National Collegiate Athletic Association to identify colleges and universities that develop outstanding diversity practices in their athletic departments.
