Georgette Ramie has been appointed budget analyst in the Office of Financial Services at the University of New Orleans. She has worked in accounting and managerial positions in private industry. Ramie earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of New Orleans.
Dr. Theodosia T. Shields is the new dean of Library Services at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore. Most recently, she was the university librarian at Dillard University in New Orleans. Shields earned a bachelor's degree in education from South Carolina State University; a master's degree in library science from Atlanta University; and a doctorate in library science from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Doris C. Bell, an associate professor of chiropractic science at Logan College of Chiropractic in Missouri, has been elected president of the National Association of Medical Minority Educators Inc. Her term will run from 1999-2001. She also recently became president-elect of the American Black Chiropractors Association, which she will lead from 2000-2002. Bell earned a bachelor's degree in business with a specialty in marketing from the University of Missouri-St. Louis; and
a doctor of chiropractic degree from the Logan College of Chiropractic.
