DR. G. WAYNE CLOUGH, president of the Georgia Institute of Technology, has been named secretary of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. He will step down from his post at Georgia Tech on July 1. Clough received a bachelor’s and master’s from Georgia Tech and a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley.

DR. ELIZABETH DICKEY has been named president of Bank Street College of Education (N.Y.). She previously served as university professor at The New School. Dickey earned a bachelor’s from Lake Forest College and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

DHANFU ELSTON has been appointed faculty academic professional for student retention in the office of undergraduate studies at Georgia State University. Most recently, he served as the advisor for leadership development in the Division of Student Affairs. Elston earned a bachelor’s and master’s from Clark Atlanta University.

BONNIE FERNANDEZ has been named the new executive director of the Center for Produce Safety at the University of California, Davis. Formerly, she served as the executive director of the California Wheat Commission. Fernandez received a bachelor’s from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an MBA from Sacramento State University.

DR. MARÍA HERNÁNDEZ FERRIER has been named executive director of Texas A&M University-Kingsville System Center-San Antonio. She previously served as the Southwest Independent School District’s executive director for external funding and grants. Hernández Ferrier received a bachelor’s and master’s from Our Lady of the Lake University and a doctorate from Texas A&M University.

 

TOMIKIA LEGRANDE has been named assistant vice chancellor for enrollment services at Winston-Salem State University (N.C.). Previously, she served as director for undergraduate admissions at the university. LeGrande received a bachelor’s from Savannah State University and a master’s from North Carolina A&T State University.
