Rocky Mountain College’s VP for Planning, Indian Affairs Resigning

Janine Pease is resigning as Rocky Mountain College's vice president for planning and American Indian affairs at the end of June to take an administrative position with Fort Peck Community College.

Pease will become vice president for academic affairs at the two-year tribal college in Poplar. The school was chartered by the Assiniboine-Sioux tribal government and has 450 students.

Pease has been a Rocky vice president since 2003 and also taught Native American studies.

She says the new job allows her to return to her first love tribal colleges.

Pease was the founding president of Little Big Horn College at Crow Agency, directing the college from August 1982 until January 2001. She will continue as a member of the state Board of Regents.
