The UNITED NEGRO COLLEGE FUND has received $100,000 from Erickson Retirement Communities to benefit minority students interested in working with seniors. Specifically, the funds will establish the Erickson Retirement Communities/UNCF Corporate Scholars Program.
The UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA has received a $25 MILLION gift from Dr. Verna B. Dauterive in memory of her late husband Peter W. Dauterive, a 1949 graduate of the USC Marshall School of Business. It is the largest gift ever made by an African- American to an institution of higher education.
The UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN has received a $173,930 grant from the National Park Service to preserve and repair thousands of handwritten papers by Stephen F. Austin, who is known historically as “the father of Texas.”
