JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY’S CHILDREN’S CENTER has received a $5 MILLION grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute to establish a basic and transnational research center that will consolidate research, treatment and care of adult and pediatric patients.

OHIO UNIVERSITY’S RUSS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY has eceived a $92 MILLION gift in securities and real estate from the college’s namesakes the late Fritz and Dolores H. Russ. The estate gift totals $79.1 million in cash and about $12.7 million in real estate. It is the largest gift for any public engineering college and the largest to any Ohio public university.

THE UNIVERSITY OF BALTIMORE has received a $5 MILLION gift from Baltimore Orioles owner Peter G. Angelos to help fund the construction of a new $107 million law building at Charles Street and Mount Royal Avenue. The gift is the largest private donation in the school’s 83-year history.

THE UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO has received a $10 MILLION gift from Jeremy and Margaret Jacobs to establish a new heart and vascular disease research center called the Jacobs Institute.

The UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY’S GRADUATE SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM has received a $500,000 grant from the Ford Foundation to produce news sites for Bay Area communities.

THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN has received a $1.5 MILLION grant from The Hearst Foundations to establish a faculty fellowship in the College of Communication and begin renovating the Texas Student Media building.
