Professional Appointments

Dr. Harry Lee Williams has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs of Delaware State University. Previously, he served as interim associate vice president of academic affairs at the University of North Carolina General Administration. Williams earned a bachelor’s and master’s from Appalachian State University and a doctorate from East Tennessee State University.

DR. SUSAN BORREGO has been named vice president for planning and enrollment management at California State University, Dominguez Hills, effective Aug. 1. She earned a bachelor’s from Northwest Nazarene College, a master’s from Azusa Pacific University and a doctorate from the Claremont Graduate University.

DR. BEVERLYE BROWN has been named associate vice chancellor of diversity, research and planning at Metropolitan Community College-Kansas City (Mo.). Brown earned a bachelor’s from Birmingham- Southern College, a master’s from the University of Alabama and a doctorate from the University of Missouri- Columbia.

CELIA HURLEY has been named director of institutional effectiveness at Central Carolina Community College (N.C.) and liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Hurley earned a bachelor’s from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and a master’s from the University of Florida.

DR. MO KWAN KANG has been named the Dr. Jack A. Weichman Chair in Endodontics at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Dentistry. Kang, an associate professor at UCLA, will be the first to hold the endowed chair. He holds a bachelor’s, master’s, D.D.S. and doctorate from UCLA.
