ARMSTRONG ATLANTIC STATE UNIVERSITY (Ga.) has received a $360,000 grant from the University System of Georgia to participate in the USG’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Initiative (STEM).

CALIFORNIA LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY has received a $100,000 Wal-Mart grant from the Council of Independent Colleges to help CLU recruit and retain more firstgeneration college students.

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, NORTHRIDGE, has received a $5 MILLION gift from an anonymous donor. The donor specified that the funds be used for scholarships and student assistance.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY has received a $750,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the Rural Development Utilities Program to help the university convert to digital television.

FLORIDA A&M UNIVERSITY has received a $133,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education for its School of Graduate Studies and Research and its Carrie Meek- James N. Eaton, Sr. Southeastern Regional Black Archives, Research Center and Museum. With the funds, the centers plan to recruit and train Black master’s level students for the museum profession through the “Inspiring Authorities in Museum Management” (IAMM) Project.

FORT LEWIS COLLEGE (Colo.) has been awarded a $1.9 MILLION grant from the U.S. Department of Education to increase the number of students studying science, engineering and technology.

SPELMAN COLLEGE (Ga.) has received a $17 MILLION gift from an anonymous donor to support international initiatives at the college. The funds will establish the Gordon- Zeto Endowed Fund for International Initiatives.

The UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA, COOKSTON, has received a $150,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce to strengthen and diversify the regional economy.
