The AMERICAN INDIAN COLLEGE FUND has received $100,000 from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians for scholarships benefiting Native students.

ARMSTRONG ATLANTIC STATE UNIVERSITY (Ga.) has been awarded a National Science Foundation grant of $450,621 as part of the Research in Undergraduate Institutions program.

THE CITY COLLEGE OF NEW YORK and the MEMORIAL SLOAN-KETTERING CANCER CENTER have received $15.9 MILLION from the National Institutes of Health to implement a parternership in cancer research, education and outreach.

INDIANA UNIVERSITY-BLOOMINGTON has been awarded $500,000 from Ernst & Young for its Kelley School of Business. The funds will help create the Ernst & Young Foundations for Leadership Program.

NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY has received a $987,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to encourage students from underrepresented groups to enter graduate school in engineering, science and related fields.

OBERLIN COLLEGE’S ALLEN MEMORIAL ART MUSEUM (OHIO) has been awarded $1.25 MILLION by the Mellon Foundation for academic programming.

PALM BEACH COMMUNITY COLLEGE has received a $545,471 grant from the National Science Foundation to launch a scholarship and mentoring program aimed at boosting the number of underrepresented minority students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE (N.M.) has been awarded $528,567 in three grants from the U.S. Department of Labor to develop and expand programs in green jobs and to provide student scholarships.

The UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI’S COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, CRIMINAL JUSTICE, AND HUMAN SERVICES has received a $1.5 MILLION grant from the U.S. Department of Education to launch a new research-based program to improve teacher quality in elementary science instruction.

 WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY’S COLLEGE OF NURSING (Mich.) has been awarded nearly $2 MILLION in grants from the state to remedy Michigan’s nursing shortage.
