Georgia colleges prepare for more cuts

The state’s 35 public colleges and universities submitted plans to the University System of Georgia outlining what would be cut if budgets have to be reduced by 4 percent, 6 percent or 8 percent.  According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Gov. Sonny Perdue said the state must cut spending by 5 percent because of projected declines in revenue collections. Some state agencies may cut more; others may cut less.
