The NCAA is forcing University of Memphis men’s basketball team to give up its wins from the 2007-08 season because of an ineligible player. Chicago Public Radio reports, Chicago Bulls star guard Derrick Rose is believed to be the ineligible player. Rose, a Chicago Public Schools alumnus, had someone else take this SAT test for him. Rose led Memphis to the national championship in 2008. The Chicago Public School’s Internal Audit division first contacted Memphis officials about the student in October 2007. The Illinois Office of the Inspector General was also alerted to irregularities with Rose’s exam. Memphis must return the money it received from the NCAA tournament. Rose has denied any wrongdoing.
