DR. RITA HARTUNG CHENG has been named chancellor of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Cheng was provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She earned a bachelor’s from Bishop’s University, master’s from the University of Rhode Island and a doctorate from Temple University.

UVA COLES is dean of career management services at Peirce College (Pa.). Coles was vice president of intake services at Big Brothers Big Sisters Southeastern Pennsylvania, a youth mentoring organization. She holds bachelor’s degrees from Claflin University.

DR. HAI-LUNG DAI is senior vice provost for international affairs at Temple University. Dai previously served as dean of Temple’s College of Science and Technology and as the Laura H. Carnell Professor of Chemistry. He earned a bachelor’s from National Taiwan University and a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley.

YARED GETACHEW is director of public service at the University of Virginia School of Law. Getachew also serves as director of the Mortimer Caplin Public Service Center at the School of Law. He earned a bachelor’s and juris doctorate from UVA.

SHANNON HENRY is director of internal audit at Winston-Salem State University (N.C.). Henry was assistant state auditor for the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor. She holds a bachelor’s from Mount Saint Mary College.

DR. DIANA PINO has been appointed vice chancellor of student services at Houston Community College. Pino previously served as founding dean of student services at Lone Star College – CyFair. She has a bachelor’s from the University of Texas at Austin, master’s from Our Lady of the Lake University and a doctorate from UT at Austin.

DR. MARC A. NIVET has been appointed chief diversity officer at the Association of American Medical Colleges. Nivet serves as the chief operating officer and treasurer of the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation, which supports health professionals educational programs. He earned a bachelor’s from Southern Connecticut State, master’s from Long Island University and doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.

JEAN SAYEGH has been named vice president/ dean of the Cattaraugus County Campus, continuing education and external partnerships at Jamestown Community College (N.Y.). He holds a bachelor’s from Florida International University and a master’s from St. Bonaventure University.

DR. ALEXANDER TUZHILIN will join University of the People (Calif.) As chair of its computer science department. Tuzhilin is professor of Information Systems at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He earned his bachelor’s from New York University, master’s from Stanford University and doctorate from New York University.
