PRINCETON, N.J.— President Barack Obama's former “green jobs” adviser will teach at Princeton University.

Van Jones will hold a fellowship in the Center for African American Studies and at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in the Program in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy.

The environmental and civil rights activist is expected to teach a course that will focus on ecology, the environment and race in the spring of 2011. The Ivy League school says he'll spend the rest of his time pursuing scholarly work.

Jones resigned after six months with the White House Council on Environmental Quality. He was linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the Sept. 11 attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.
