Rosell Caswell, coordinator for student affairs in the Florida A&M University Center for Human Development, has been awarded the Sadie M. Yancey Professional Service Award from the National Association of Student Affairs Professionals. The award recognizes outstanding work. Caswell earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree from FAMU.


Dr. Badi G. Foster has been named president of the Phelps-Stokes Fund, a philanthropic fund set up for service to education. The fund has a history of concern for the educational needs of the underprivileged and  sponsored the first national comprehensive study of education of African Americans. Foster earned a bachelor's from the University of Denver and both a master's and doctorate from Princeton University.
Connie Shumake has been named assistant dean for admissions at the University of Louisville's law school. Shumake has been with the university since 1981, first in the office of
student financial aid and most recently in the law school's planning, budget and student affairs offices. Shumake earned a bachelor's from Western Kentucky University and a master's in vocational and community counseling from the University of Louisville.

Romeria Tidwell-Bouchereau has been named chairwoman of the University of California at Los Angeles Center for African-American Studies Interdepartmental Program. Tidwell earned a bachelor's in psychology from UCLA, a master's in school counseling and psychology from California State University, Los Angeles, and a  doctorate in counseling psychology also from UCLA.
