Professional Appointments

Dr. Duchess Harris, a professor of political science and African American studies at Macalester College, has received a 2001 Career Enhancement Fellowship for Junior Faculty sponsored by the New Jersey-based Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. Harris earned a bachelor's from the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in American studies from the University of Minnesota.

Sigrid Kennebrew, a doctoral candidate at the University of Georgia, has been selected to be a K. Patricia Cross Future Leader by the American Association of Higher Education for 2001. Kennebrew is among seven students selected each year. Kennebrew earned a bachelor's in psychology and a master's in education both from the University of Georgia.

Dr. Sean B. Seymore has been appointed an assistant professor of chemistry at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind. Seymore earned a bachelor's from the University of Tennessee, a master's in chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a doctorate from the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Audrey Springs-Anderson, dean of extended education at California State University, Fresno, has been elected president of the University Continuing Education Association. Springs-Anderson earned a bachelor's and master's in business education and a doctorate in educational psychology, all from Northern Illinois University.

Dana Cosby Williams is the new coordinator of the University of Louisville law school's Samuel L. Greenebaum Public Service Program. Formerly Williams was a tax consultant with Coopers & Lybrand in Columbus, Ohio, and Louisville, Ky. Williams earned a bachelor's from the University of Kentucky and a law degree from Duke University.

Dr. Donald E. Wilson, dean and vice president for medical affairs at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, has been named chair of the Council of Deans of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Wilson earned a bachelor's from Harvard University and a doctor of medicine degree from Tufts University.
