Dr. Frank B. Ashley has been named director of admissions at Texas A&M University. Previously, Ashley served as associate dean for undergraduate studies and teacher education in the College of Education. Ashley earned his bachelor's from Louisiana College and both master's and doctorate from the University of
Alabama.

Dr. William R. Harvey, president of Hampton University, has been appointed to the 18-member board of Fannie Mae by President George W. Bush. Fannie Mae, created by Congress in 1938, is a private, shareholder-owned company that works to make sure mortgage money is available for people in communities all across America.

Dr. Dwight McBride has been named head of the department of African American studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to this appointment, McBride was a professor of English at the university. McBride earned bachelor's degrees from Princeton University and a master's and doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Jesse F. McClure has been named vice president for academic affairs at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Previously, McClure served as a consultant with advertising and public relations agency Archer Malmo. McClure received a bachelor's and a master's both from the University of Michigan, and a doctorate from Brandeis University.

Stephanie Ready, a former athlete and assistant coach for men's basketball at Coppin State College in Baltimore has been named an assistant coach of the Greenville, S.C. Groove in the NBA's new eight-team developmental league. She will be the first woman to ever coach an American men's professional team.  Ready earned a bachelor's degree cum laude in psychology from Coppin State.

Dr. Rosalie Richards has been named Kaolin Endowed Chair in Science at Georgia College and State University. Currently, Richards is a faculty member at Spelman College. Richards received her bachelor's from the University of the Virgin Islands and her doctorate from the University of Southern California.
