California State University-Northridge has received a grant from the federal government for $40,000 over the next three years to support innovative community service-learning projects at the university.
George Mason University (Virginia) has received a $100,000 scholarship endowment from Soza & Company Ltd. The funding will be used for graduates of the university's nationally recognized Early Identification Program.
Howard University's School of Communication (Washington) has received an $800,000 gift for scholarships to journalism students from the estate of Grace Halsell, author of Soul Sister.
Miami-Dade Community College has been awarded two grants totaling $3.6 million from the U.S. Department of Education to support and expand programs serving Hispanic and minority students.
