CUNY Department Seeks Papers, Proposals on Africana Culture, Digital Age

NEW YORK
The African American studies department at New York City Technical College of the City University of New York is seeking paper and presentation proposals for a conference titled "Africana Studies in Science, Technology and Business: Digitizing the Discipline." The event is the 26th annual conference of the New York African Studies Association (NYASA), to be held April 4-6.
The conference is open to all disciplines. The department encourages interdisciplinary proposals with particular emphasis on the conference theme. Especially encouraged are papers and presentations that examine issues on Africana culture and the digital age.
Specific papers can examine topics such as business opportunities for minorities in the Digital Age, digital devices and curriculum development, digitizing Africana studies, and E-literacy and the Black community.
Deadline for submission of abstracts is Feb. 1. Abstracts not received by the deadline will not be given full consideration for the conference. Selected conference papers will be published by NYASA. Submit abstracts of 100-150 words typewritten, via e-mail (preferred) or on a disk (MS Word or rich text compatible) to: Dr. Steve Panford, Professor and Chair Department of African American Studies, Room A-643, New York City Technical College, 300 Jay Street, Brooklyn, N.Y., 11201-2983. The e-mail address is  <spanford@nyctc.cuny.edu>.
