California State University-San Bernardino has received $300,000 from Riverside County to evaluate the effectiveness of several county juvenile crime prevention programs.

Oklahoma State University’s College of Business Administration has received $1.3 million from The Williams Institute to establish The Williams Institute for Quantitative Finance.

Penn State University’s College of Communications received a $250,000 grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The grant will be used to continue successful minority recruitment.
Purdue University’s Graduate School’s Office of Minority Affairs received a $1.9 million grant from the National Institutes of Health. The grant will fund an outreach program aimed at potential researchers, support 10 doctoral students, and support a formal mentoring program.

University of California Los Angeles-Duke National Center for Traumatic Stress has been awarded $3,063,132 to establish a National Center for Child Traumatic Stress.

Virginia Union University received a $3.3 million grant from the National Science Foundation to increase the number of African Americans, Hispanics and American Indians in technological education and enterprise. VUU, under the National Science Foundation’s Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (NSFLSAMP), will lead a consortium of six other institutions that are charged with doubling the number of minority graduates in the fields of science, mathematics, engineering and technology (SMET) over the next five years. Partner institutions include Elizabeth City State, Fisk, James Madison, Virginia Tech and Johnson C. Smith universities and St. Augustine’s College.
