Professional Appointments
Dr. Elaine J. Copeland has been named president of Clinton Junior College in Rock Hill, S.C. Previously, she was acting president of the college. Copeland earned a bachelor's degree from Livingstone College, master's degrees from Winthrop University and the University of Illinois, and a doctorate from Oregon State University.
Dr. Paul Killpatrick has been named president of Great Basin College in Elko, Nev., effective June 1. He currently serves as vice president of instructional support and community development at Mt. Hood Community College. Killpatrick earned a bachelor's from Oregon State University, a master's from Western Oregon State University and a doctorate from Oregon State University.
Dr. Reginald Lindsey has been selected acting president of Morris Brown College in Atlanta. Lindsey most recently served as interim vice president for fiscal affairs. Lindsey earned a bachelor's from Alcorn State University, a master's from Jackson State University and a doctorate from Clark Atlanta University.
Theresa A. Powell has been appointed vice president for student affairs at Temple University in Philadelphia. Previously, she was vice president for student affairs at Western Michigan University. Powell earned a bachelor's from the University of Pennsylvania, a master's from Texas Christian University and a doctorate from Ohio State University.
Dr. Rufus Robinson is the new assistant vice president for institutional advancement at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C. Previously, he served as associate director for the Office of Career Services at Howard University. Robinson earned a bachelor's from Southern University, a master's from Webster University and a doctorate from Howard University.
LaREE PEARL SUGG has been hired as the first women's golf head coach at the University of Richmond. Sugg formerly competed on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour for four years and the Women's Professional Golfers European Tour. During her senior year, she led UCLA to the national women's championship in golf. Sugg earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of California, Los Angeles.
