California State University-Dominguez Hills' School of Education has been awarded a $799,970 federal grant to recruit and prepare teachers to work with students with mild to moderate disabilities.

California State University-Northridge's library has been awarded a five-year $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to bolster student success by strengthening the library's outreach to the Latino community.

Chicago State University has been awarded a $1.2 million technology grant from the state of Illinois to provide new education advances in classrooms and upgrade existing computer systems.

Creighton University has received a $299,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education for its Educational Talent Search Program, a federal TRIO program.

The Fashion Institute of Technology (N.Y.) has received software valued at $588,732 from Microsoft as part of Microsoft's philanthropic Working Connections program.

North Carolina Central University professor, Dr. Debra O. Parker, chair of the Department of Human Sciences, has received a $325,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to develop career paths for professional childcare providers.

Springfield College (Mass.) has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the George I. Alden Trust to establish a state-of-the-art technology learning center.

The University of Notre Dame (Ind.) has received a grant of $300,000 from the L.G. Balfour Foundation to support the Frazier Thompson Scholarship Fund for African American students.
