The Disconnect Between Colleges and their Communities: About Prince George’s Community College

About Prince George's Community CollegePrince George's Community College was founded in the fall of 1958 as the first integrated school in Prince George's County. Today, the college serves approximately 35,000 a year and offers more than 50 programs of study. Academic programs are classified in two categories: Transfer programs, which parallel the first two years of a bachelor's degree and are designed to transfer to four-year colleges and universities; and career programs, which provide the technical skills necessary for immediate employment and career advancement.
