About Bowie State UniversityBowie State University is Maryland's oldest historically Black college or university. Throughout the years, it has placed a strong emphasis on teacher education, garnering the reputation of being one of the premier Black teacher-training institutions in the nation. In recent years, the university has expanded its focus to include computer and technology applications.
Currently, the university offers 19 undergraduate and 19 graduate degree programs.
