Akua Johnson Brown has been appointed assistant vice chancellor for budget and planning in the division of business and finance at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Most recently, Brown served as interim university budget director. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and logistics management from N.C. A&T.
Dr. Cheryl Dozier is the new assistant vice president in academic affairs at the University of Georgia, Gwinnett University Center. She earned a bachelor’s from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a master’s from Atlanta University and a doctorate  from Hunter College. She is currently vice president of the National Association of Black Social Workers.
Dr. M. Sammye Miller has been appointed dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and as special assistant to the provost at Bowie State University in Maryland. Miller earned a bachelor’s degree from Delaware State University, master’s from Trinity College and a doctorate from the Catholic University of America.
Dr. Cornel Morton has been named vice president for student affairs at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tennessee State University and a doctorate from Kent State University.
Maj. Gen. Clifford L. Stanley has been named executive vice president at the University of Pennsylvania. Stanley has more than 30 years on active duty with the Marine Corps. Stanley earned a bachelor’s  from South Carolina State University and a master’s in counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Charles Taylor is the new president of Morris Brown College in Atlanta, succeeding Dr. Dolores Cross. Taylor has served as president of Wilberforce University in Ohio but most recently ran an executive search firm focusing on historically Black colleges and universities. Taylor earned a bachelor’s, master’s and a doctorate, all from Ohio State University.
