Professional Appointments

Dr. Shari Clarke has been appointed vice president for student affairs at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania. Previously, she was associate to the president at the University of Nebraska. Clarke earned a bachelor's from Lane College, a master's from Bowling Green State University and a doctorate in educational leadership and higher education from the University of Nebraska.

Dr. Louis Dale has been named to the new position of vice president for equity and diversity at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Dale was associate provost for minority and special programs. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Miles College, a master's in mathematics from Atlanta University and a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Alabama.

Dr. Leonard Haynes III has been appointed director of the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE). Haynes has served as special assistant to the U.S. secretary of education and acting president at Grambling State University in Louisiana. He earned a bachelor's from Southern University, a master's from Carnegie Mellon and a doctorate from Ohio State University.

Dr. Thomas J. Haynes Jr. has been named vice president for university advancement at Montclair State University. He earned a bachelor's in behavioral science/abnormal psychology from Shaw University, a master's in counselor education from Florida A&M University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Florida State University.

Dr. Richard Milner has been named assistant professor in the department of teaching and learning at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Milner earned a bachelor's in English and a master's in teaching from South Carolina State University. He earned a second master's and a doctorate in curriculum foundations from Ohio State University.
