Web Site Markets Virginia Colleges

Web Site Markets Virginia CollegesRICHMOND, Va.
The Council of Independent Colleges of Virginia (CICV) and the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) have teamed up to offer VirginiaMentor, an Internet-based resource that allows a prospective student to compare the 60-plus colleges and universities affiliated with the CICV and SCHEV to determine which best fits that student.
The Web site enables prospective students to take a multimedia tour of any campus for an in-depth evaluation, communicate directly with school staff via the free e-mail accounts, explore career options and requirements, and take an assessment survey to match their interests and skills to an occupation.
VirginiaMentor also offers access to admissions applications for the public and private colleges and universities represented on the Web site. While the student is responsible for the standard fee charged by a college or university upon submitting an application for admission, information on the VirginiaMentor site is provided free of charge, according to officials. Personal data entered by the user is not released to third parties without the user’s express consent and direction. To use VirginiaMentor, see  <www.virginiamentor.org/>.
