Lee Hampton is the new executive director of Tulane University's Amistad Research Center, an independent archive of the history of African Americans and other ethnic groups. Previously, Hampton was vice president for institutional advancement at Johnson C. Smith University. He earned a bachelor's degree from Dillard University and a master's from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. E. Nigel Harris has been named vice chancellor at the University of the West Indies. Currently, he is the dean and senior vice president for academic affairs at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. Harris earned a bachelor's degree from Howard University, a master's degree from Yale University, a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate of medicine from the University of the West Indies.

SHARON JEFFERSON has been selected as the new vice president for student affairs at Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Fla. She has been the interim vice president for the past year. Jefferson received her bachelor's degree and master's degree from Indiana University.

Robert E. Johnson has been named vice president for enrollment management at the University of Dayton in Ohio. Previously, Johnson was executive director of marketing and enrollment management at Central State University. He earned a bachelor's degree from Morehouse College and a master's degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Isidore Okpewho has been named a distinguished professor by the State University of New York Board of Trustees. He has taught at SUNY Buffalo, Ibadan University in Nigeria and Harvard University. Okpewho earned a bachelor's degree from the University of London, a doctorate from the University of Denver and from the University of London.

Dr. George J. Penn has been named vice president for external relations/institutional advancement and development at Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas. Penn comes to Jarvis from a position as assistant city manager in Carson, Calif. He earned a bachelor's degree from Miami University of Ohio, and a master's degree and a doctorate from the University of Cincinnati.
