Dennis Cousin has been named the new director of athletics and recreation at Xavier University of Louisiana. Previously, he served as a basketball official with the Louisiana High School Athletic Association and the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. Cousin received a bachelor's and a master's from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La.

Robert "Tony" O'Neal has been named the new director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Savannah State University in Georgia. Prior to coming to SSU, he was the associate athletic director at Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Fla. O'Neal earned a bachelor's from Central State University in Ohio.

Dr. Kevin A. Rolle has been named vice president for student affairs at South Carolina State University. Previously, he was at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore as the associate vice president for institutional advancement, chief development officer and instructor in the organizational leadership degree program. He earned a bachelor's and a master's from Southern University, and a doctorate from Colorado State University.

Dr. Jack Thomas has been named vice provost for academic affairs at Middle Tennessee State University. Formerly a professor of English and executive vice president/interim president at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Thomas earned a bachelor's from Alabama A&M University, a master's from Virginia State University and a doctorate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Dwight C. Watson has been appointed chair of the education department in the College of Liberal Arts at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of South Carolina and a doctorate from North Carolina State University.

Brenda Wilson-Hale has been named vice president for development at DePaul University. She joined the university in 1999 as director of corporate and foundation relations. Most recently she served as associate vice president for development at DePaul. Wilson-Hale earned a bachelor's degree and a law degree from Wayne State University in Detroit.
