Online Assessment Test for Adult Education Released

MONTEREY, Calif.
CTB/McGraw-Hill, a leading provider of K-12 and adult education assessment solutions, last month announced the release of an online version of its Tests for Adult Basic Education (TABE), the most widely used assessment in adult education for more than 30 years. TABE Online measures skills in reading, language arts and mathematics, and is reportedly the only adult basic skills assessment available online.

TABE Online offers ease of use, a high degree of security, and the ability for organizations and states to easily aggregate and disaggregate critical data for state and federal reporting. The process of student registration, test administration, scoring and reporting can be completed through the Internet. Since no additional software is required, TABE Online is easy to access through adult education sites.

“Adult education programs meet the needs of a diverse student population, and enable those students to continue or advance their academic achievement. We’re proud to offer TABE Online to adult education professionals, to help them meet their education goals as well as state and federal requirements,” says David Taggart, president, CTB/McGraw-Hill.

With TABE Online, states can quickly access all of the test results from adult education programs throughout the state, such as vocational schools, workforce centers, adult education centers and pre-GED centers. The online format creates a fast reporting system in adult education.

CTB/McGraw-Hill provides test results for more than 4 million adult students nationally and provides the education assessment for the nation’s largest correctional systems. In K-12 education, CTB/McGraw-Hill serves more than 15 million students annually in 8,500 school districts in all 50 states, including the District of Columbia and the U.S. Department of Defense system.
