Grants & Awards

The Clark Atlanta University Student Health Center received a $50,000 grant from the Health 1st Foundation of Atlanta. The grant will be used to provide health education materials, workshops and health peer counselors for CAU students. 

Clarkson University (N.Y.), Indiana University and the University of Virginia were awarded grants totaling $450,000 from the Procter & Gamble Fund’s Curriculum Development Grant Competition. The annual competition awards money for innovative instruction that advances student learning in critical business areas.

Kansas State University has received a $20,000 grant from Cargill and its affiliate Horizon Milling, LLC, in an effort to provide multicultural students an opportunity to obtain milling science degrees.

The Mt. San Antonio College (Calif.) Regional Health Occupation Resource Center received a $250,000 California Community Foundation grant to help nursing students prepare for the state licensing examination.

The North Carolina A&T State University Foundation received a $275,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to support the proposed Aggie Center for African-American Entrepreneurship and Wealth and the interdisciplinary campus-wide financial literacy program.

The Texas Southern University Tavis Smiley Center for Professional Media Studies received a $100,000 grant from Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to extend scholarships for minority students interested in the field of mass communications.

The United Negro College Fund received an award of $1.5 million from Wal-Mart that includes $1 million to establish the Wal-Mart Emergency Assistance Fund and $500,000 in operating support.
