Professional Appointments

James Williams is the new director of the renowned jazz studies program at William Paterson University in New Jersey. As an educator/artist, Williams has taught at the New England Conservatory of Music and Harvard University. He first gained national attention as a pianist and music director for Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. Williams earned a bachelor's in music education from Memphis State University.

Eddie N. Moore Jr., president of Virginia State University, has been elected chair of the Vantagepoint Funds, a group of 13 mutual funds with assets totaling more than $8 billion. He succeeds George Bissell. Moore earned his bachelor's in accounting from Penn. State University and a master's in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
