Professional Appointments

Dr. Rodney D. Bennett has been named vice president for student affairs at the University of Georgia. He had been serving in the position on an interim basis for nearly a year. Bennett earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and a doctorate from Tennessee State University.

Dorcia L. Medina is the new director of development in the Office of Institutional Advancement at Huston-Tillotson University. Previously, Medina served as associate director for development at Texas Southern University. Medina earned her bachelor’s from Excelsior College and her master’s from the University of Phoenix.

Peggy Boyles has been appointed director of development for the University of Arkansas division of student affairs. Previously, she served as assistant director of development. Boyle earned a bachelor’s from the University of Arkansas.

Dr. Robert E. Myers has been named president of Daniel Webster College in New Hampshire. Most recently he was chancellor of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s extended campus. Myers earned a bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate from the University of Maryland-College Park.

Dr. Felicia Brown-Haywood has been named director of student affairs at Penn State University-Harrisburg. Most recently she was director of student support services and intercultural affairs. Brown-Haywood earned a bachelor’s from Cheyney University, a master’s from Shippensburg University and a doctorate from Penn State Harrisburg.

Dr. Michael A. Plater has been named professor and dean of the college of arts and sciences at North Carolina A&T State University. He recently served as associate dean of the graduate school at Brown University. Plater earned a bachelor’s from Harvard University, a master’s from the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate from the College of William and Mary.
