Dr. William F. Tate IV has been named the Edward Mallinckrodt Distinguished University Professor in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis. Most recently he held appointments in American culture studies, applied statistics and computation and education. Tate earned a bachelor’s from Northern Illinois University, a master’s from the University of Texas at Dallas and a doctorate from the University of Maryland-College Park.
