Dr. James A. Anderson has been named vice president for student success and vice provost for institutional assessment and diversity at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Previously he was vice president and associate provost for institutional assessment and diversity at Texas A&M University. Anderson received a bachelor’s from Villanova University and a doctorate from Cornell University.

Dr. Katherine Olukemi Bankole has been named associate professor of history at West Virginia University. For the past nine years she served as director of the WVU Center for Black Culture and Research. She earned a bachelor’s from Howard University and a master’s and doctorate from Temple University.

Dr. Jeffrey Brenzel has been named dean of undergraduate admissions at Yale University. Previously, he was executive director of the Association of Yale Alumni. Brenzel earned a bachelor’s from Yale College and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Lamont A. Flowers has been appointed distinguished professor of educational leadership and director of the Charles H. Houston Center for the Study of the Black Experience in Education at Clemson University. Most recently, he served as associate professor at the University of Florida. Flowers earned a bachelor’s from Virginia Commonwealth University and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Iowa.

Dr. Everette J. Freeman has been named the eighth president of Albany State University in Georgia. Previously he was the senior vice president and provost at the University of Indianapolis. Freeman earned a certificate in economics from Fircroft College in Birmingham, England, a bachelor’s from Antioch College, a master’s from the University of Illinois and a doctorate from Rutgers University.
