Professional Appointments

Lynn Walker Huntley has been appointed executive vice president of the Southern Education Foundation. Huntley joined the foundation in 1995 as director of the Comparative Human Relations Initiative. She earned a bachelor's in sociology with honors from Barnard College and a legal degree from Columbia University.

Dr. Gwendolyn D. Wilson, a professor of audiology at South Carolina State University, has been selected by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology as a 2000 site visitor. Wilson earned a bachelor's in speech therapy from South Carolina State University, two master's degrees and a doctorate in audiology all from Columbia University.

Dr. Percy Bates, a professor of education and director of the programs for educational opportunity at the University of Michigan, has been elected president of the Faculty Athletics Representatives Association of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Bates earned a bachelor's from Central Michigan University and a doctorate from the University of Michigan.
