Professional Appointments

Dr. Esin Gulari has been appointed dean of the College of Engineering and Science at Clemson University (S.C.). Most recently, she served as a professor of chemical engineering and materials science at Wayne State University. She earned a bachelor’s from Robert College in Istanbul, Turkey, and a master’s and doctorate from the California Institute of Technology.

Dr. Mohammad Qayoumi has been named president of California State University, East Bay. Currently, he serves as vice president for administration and finance and chief financial officer at CSU-Northridge. Qayoumi earned a bachelor’s from the American University of Beirut, and three master’s degrees and a doctorate from the University of Cincinnati.

Janelle Simmons has been named director of orientation and first-year experience in the division of student affairs at North Carolina Central University. Most recently, she was assistant director of student orientation and family programs at Stony Brook University. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Stony Brook.

The Course Curriculum Specialist/Instructional Designer reports to the Coordinator of Curriculum & Assessment and provides leadership and support in the implementation of all CVTC course-level curriculum and instructional design services including overseeing WIDS entry/maintenance and carrying out Quality Matters® initiatives.
