John M. Pontius Jr. has been named vice president for finance and administration at Excelsior College (N.Y.). He was most recently an associate professor at Hartwick College. Pontius holds a bachelor’s from St. Lawrence University and a MBA from Cornell University.
Dr. Beverly Rose has been named assistant vice chancellor for student affairs administration at Winston-Salem State University (N.C.). She earned a bachelor’s from Johnson C. Smith University, a master’s from The Citadel and a doctorate from North Carolina State University.
Dr. Deborah Wilds has been named president of the Washington Education Foundation. Most recently, she was senior program officer for education at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She holds a bachelor’s from California State University, San Diego, a master’s from Howard University and a doctorate from the University of Maryland-College Park.
