TUCSON, Ariz. ― A University of Arizona fraternity whose members included a student that fell to his death is being investigated for allegations of hazing and serving alcohol to minors.
University officials said Wednesday that Phi Gamma Delta fraternity has been suspended from conducting any on-campus activity.
The school says chapter members of the fraternity, commonly known as Fiji, also allegedly conspired to not cooperate with university officials and police.
Phi Gamma Delta’s national office says it is cooperating with the school.
Authorities say 19-year-old Michael Evan Anderson was legally drunk when he climbed up a 20-foot tall ventilation tower on April 4.
They say he was about halfway up when he fell onto the rooftop.
Campus police have been trying to determine if the fraternity played a role in Anderson’s death.
