Xavier University of Louisiana has received a $100,000 gift from the family of former trustee Evelyn Landis Christman. The gift will be used to fund an endowed scholarship. Christman served on the board in the early 1980s.

Yale University (Conn.) has received a $57.3 million Clinical and Translational Science Award from the National Institutes of Health as part of a national initiative to increase the speed that research moves from the laboratory to patients. The grant includes $31.5 million for new resources and $25.8 million to continue existing programs at Yale-New Haven Hospital’s General Clinical Research Center.
