Lisa Taylor-Henderson has been elected to the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees. Henderson, a claims specialist for State Farm Insurance Co., has worked for the company 23 years. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Columbia College.
Emily London-Jones has been appointed director of the University of New Orleans Office of Student Financial Aid. Previously, London-Jones was associate director of student financial aid at Xavier University in New Orleans. She earned her bachelor's in education and her master's in guidance and counseling, both from Xavier University of Louisiana.
Dr. Cecil R. Taliaferro has been named vice president of academic affairs and student development at Harold Washington College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago. Most recently he was the associate vice president for academic affairs at the Community College of Philadelphia. Taliaferro earned a bachelor's from Virginia Union University, a master's in international and developmental education and a doctorate in higher education administration, both from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Frederick D. White, a professor of business administration at Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce, Fla., is one of the first two faculty members at the college to be honored by the college's new endowed teaching chair program. The program recognizes and rewards outstanding teaching.
