Using Technology To Recruit a Diverse Student Body

It would be interesting to know if the data provided represent the perspectives of students of color and women (see “Prospective College Students Receptive to Electronic Social Networking Recruitment Methods, Survey Finds,” Dec. 28). Do African-American males use podcasts at the same rate as White males? What about women of different races? Are equal percentages of African-American and White high school students setting up these profiles on college Web sites? It is difficult to tell, from this article, how we may use this information in recruiting students from
diverse backgrounds.
