U. of Northern Colorado Reinstates Mexican American Studies Major

GREELEY, Colo. ― University of Northern Colorado officials have decided to reinstate the Mexican American studies major following more than a month of protests related to the university’s March 25 decision to suspend the major.

The decision to suspend the major upset students, who saw it as a cultural insult.

The Greeley Tribune reports that school officials said the college major was suspended because of low enrollment.

Three of five publicized potential jobs were human relations positions. The two others were event planner and translator.
