Dr. Iona Black, a Yale University chemistry lecturer, has received the Outstanding Teacher Award from the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers for her contributions to the education of chemistry and chemical engineering students. Black earned her bachelor's in chemistry and math at Marymount University, her master's in biochemistry at Boston University and her doctorate in chemistry from Duquesne University.
Dr. Castell Bryant, president of the Miami-Dade Community College's North Campus, was listed in the May 2000 issue of Miami Metro Magazine among Miami's "100 Women to Watch." Bryant was listed for her outstanding contributions in the area of education. Bryant earned a bachelor's in library science and business administration and a master's in administration of adult education programs, both from Florida A&M University. She earned a doctorate in administration of vocational and adult education programs from Nova Southeastern University.
