Four Finalists for President of S. Louisiana Tech College

BATON ROUGE, La. ― A North Carolina community college official and former official of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System is among finalists for president of Fletcher Technical Community College in south Louisiana.

Two finalists already work at Fletcher, in Schriever ― about 60 miles west-southwest of New Orleans ― and the fourth is in New Orleans at Delgado Community College, system spokesman Quintin Taylor said in a news release Thursday.

The finalists are:

  • Michael Elam, president at Roanoke-Chowan Community College in Ahoskie, North Carolina, and former vice president for strategic initiatives for the Louisiana system.
  • Derrick Manns, executive vice chancellor at both Fletcher and South Central Louisiana Technical College.
  • Earl Meador, interim chancellor at Fletcher and director of South Central.
  • Kristine Strickland, executive dean for Delgado’s west bank campus and head of student financial assistance for all Delgado campuses.

System president Monty Sullivan will interview all four. They’ve also been invited to interviews with the search committee and to participate in a series of public forums. Dates for those forums have not yet been scheduled.
